Privacy Policy

SiteProwl ("the app") is a macOS application published by HelpFully IT ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use SiteProwl.

We don't run servers that collect your data

SiteProwl has no user accounts and no SiteProwl/HelpFully IT backend that receives your crawls, settings, or usage. We don't track you, show ads, or sell data. There is no analytics or telemetry sent to us.

Data stored on your device

Everything SiteProwl creates or needs is stored locally on your Mac:

• Crawl results and audit history — the pages, issues, and reports from sites you crawl, saved in the app's local storage.
• Settings — your preferences.
• Your PageSpeed Insights API key — stored encrypted using the macOS Keychain (Apple's safeStorage).
• Google account tokens — if you connect Google Search Console / Google Analytics 4, the authorization tokens are stored encrypted on your device.

This data stays on your Mac. You can remove it by deleting the app's data or the app itself.

Third-party services (only when you choose to use them)

Some features send requests to third parties, using your own credentials:

• Websites you crawl. When you crawl a site, the requests come from your Mac, like a web browser visiting the site.
• Google PageSpeed Insights API. When you run a speed test, SiteProwl calls Google's PageSpeed Insights API using your own API key to analyse the URL you chose. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Search Console & Google Analytics 4. If you connect your Google account, SiteProwl uses your authorization to fetch your own Search Console and GA4 data to your Mac. We don't store this data on any server of ours. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Apple / the App Store. Your subscription is purchased and billed by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment and manages the subscription; we never receive your payment details. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties; please review their policies.

Support communications

If you email us for support ([email protected]), we'll receive whatever you send us and use it only to help you. We don't add you to any marketing lists.

Children

SiteProwl is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country).

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here.
